The Regulated Educator is a groundbreaking professional development program designed to support educators with breathwork and nervous system regulation tools.

Teaching is more than a profession—it’s a calling. But in today’s education system, educators are stretched thin, balancing curriculum demands and resources with student needs and administrative pressure.

Burnout, emotional exhaustion and feeling undervalued and unappreciated are at an all-time high. While many educators are passionate about their work, they struggle to maintain their own wellbeing while supporting their students and managing their workload.

The Regulated Educator is an accredited professional development program designed to equip teachers, school leaders and education staff with the tools for:

1. Personal Regulation and Educator Wellbeing

  • Understanding nervous system states and how stress impacts teaching
  • Simple breathwork and mindfulness techniques for quick self-regulation
  • Reigniting initial passion for teaching while maintaining balance throughout the school year to avoid burn out

2. Supporting Student Regulation in the Classroom

  • Tools for helping students manage anxiety, overwhelm and dysregulation
  • Breathwork techniques to improve focus, emotional resilience and engagement
  • How regulated teachers create calmer, more connected learning spaces

3. Whole-School Benefits

  • Stronger teacher-student dynamics based on trust and emotional intelligence
  • Reduced teacher turnover by prioritising staff wellbeing and resilience
  • A more positive, emotionally balanced school culture

This isn’t just about helping individual teachers—it’s about transforming entire schools from the inside out.

Why Nervous System Regulation Matters in Education

The modern classroom is more demanding than ever. Teachers are managing diverse learning needs, behavioural challenges and rising stress levels—all while navigating their own personal and professional pressures.

A regulated educator is one who can:

  • Stay calm under pressure, responding thoughtfully instead of reacting emotionally
  • Manage classroom energy, creating a stable, supportive learning environment
  • Model emotional intelligence, teaching students self-regulation by example
  • Avoid burnout, using practical tools to sustain their passion and their wellbeing
  • Foster deeper connections, building trust and engagement with students

By investing in nervous system regulation, educators gain the tools to not only support themselves but to positively impact their entire school community.

That’s where The Regulated Educator Comes In.

As an educator herself, Lou understands the pressures first hand. She also knows that traditional professional development often focuses on teaching strategies and classroom management—but who is supporting the educators themselves?

This program is designed to empower teachers with selfregulation techniques that not only benefit their personal wellbeing but also enhance their students’ ability to learn, focus and self-regulate too

The Regulated Educator Accreditation Program

A Professional Development Program that Creates Lasting Change

This course is more than simply self-care (although that is part of it)—it’s a transformational experience that give educators real, practical tools they can use in their classrooms, their staffrooms and their everyday lives.

The program includes:

  • Online Learning Modules: Foundational training in nervous system regulation, emotional resilience and breathwork for educators
  • Face-to-Face Workshop (1 Full Day): A practical, interactive training that brings everything together through hands-on experience
  • Classroom Application Tools: Strategies for bringing regulation techniques into the classroom to support students
  • Accredited Professional Development Hours: Recognised PD that contributes to teacher training requirements
  • On-site Training for Schools: Schools who are committed to supporting their staff cohort can host the workshop on-site, making it more convenient for staff to access

By taking a whole-school approach, this training ensures that educators, school leaders and support staff are on the same page—leading to a more cohesive, regulated and thriving school environment.

Testimonials

Real People. Real Transformation.

Through Lou’s breathwork session I discovered that I have a big sense of caring for everyone and everything on this planet. I am extremely grateful for having discovered that. Thank you for creating such a beautiful space for us and taking us to places we did not think we could get to.

Simone  | Educator Wellbeing Workshop.

Lou’s session taught me the science behind what I have always felt deep down (the warning signs my body/nervous system gives me). It was reaffirming to learn about the Window of Tolerance and to begin this journey of breathwork, thank you.

Educator Wellbeing Workshop

I chose to attend the workshop because I needed to add to me repertoire of self-help skills. The workshop has helped me by allowing me to see myself more clearly, the obstacles I place in my own way, a sure way to deal with such obstacles. The best thing about the workshop was the practical help with and practice of exercises to improve my own mental health. The encouragement to give it a try and realise the benefits was a great plus. I am so grateful to Kath and Lou for the safe space they gave me, and the loving care and concern shown.

We recently had the pleasure of hosting Larissa’s Breath by Choice workshops as incursions for our Vacation Care program, tailored specifically for Everton Park OSHC (EPOSHC). Initially, we connected with Larissa through a family at our service who praised her programs, and from our very first interaction, Larissa’s enthusiasm and support were clear. Her communication was excellent, making it a seamless process to bring her workshops into our Vacation Care setting. The feedback from our families was overwhelmingly positive, and our children loved every moment. All of the girls who participated left feeling refreshed, empowered, and visibly uplifted by the session. Larissa’s attention to detail, flexibility, and genuine passion shone through in every aspect of the workshop. She provided our children with valuable, practical life skills that align beautifully with our service’s goals. We’re thrilled with the experience Larissa created for our service, and we look forward to collaborating with her again soon!
